Hello everyone.Im new to the mpc2000xl.Coming along great but my beats are comming out very week and trebley.Levels good.Sounds great playing through my speakers as I sample of my vinyl through my dj mixer but playback is awfull in the test play and on the pads once ive trimed them. Its loud enough just no bass. Its mainly on the beats. Some sounds i sampled with out a beat sounded ok and I remember a few days ago the beats sounded fine.Sample rate is the same. What am I doing wrong? Thanks alot!

Ok I try to be serious.
Whats your setup (routing to and from the MPC)? Did you checked the cable?

Ok,Ill try to adjust the levels. Thanks for the input. Also my setup cablewise is a little screwy.I need to get some adapters for my audio cables.Right now im just doing it in mono through the left or right channel. But at one point it didnt matter. It still sounded good.I notice a huge difference and I dont really know what Im doing differently.Im getting some converter/adapters this week but I wanted to square this away in the meantime. Thanks again!

try incorporating a mixer or a preamp I guess.....really, it's all about how and what you record into I think....when you done making your beat in the MPC what are you recording it into to save it? Are you saving the beat on a floppy? or are you recording directly into a PC (this has been known to take away some things from your music) or are you using a multi-track (the best way to record IMO)

1. dont buy drum sounds.. 2. dont use adapters...3. see rule #1... i keep my record gain all the way down all the time and turn up my source volume as needed ,good head phones help too .sampling from cd's or from your computer tends to have a thin sound ...imo peace
