i have an spyrus external mcd attached to my mpc classic and it reads all my past saved sounds and programs but i can't save anything new to it. It was not dropped or anything but on the scsi cable one of the clips that secures it to the mcd is gone i place in firmly as possible and don't move anything around so it stays secure. I have a 1gb cf card and a pcmcia cf adapter so when i try to save it says scsi write error and when i try to use the other slot it says scsi not ready i don't know what gives I need help Thanks in Advance.

:( Maybe the CF card is bad? Or that slot is screwy? You can enable the top slot by opening the case and adding a jumper plug to the 6th set of pins back from the front on the set of jumper pins located at the right front of the drive (assuming you are looking at the opened drive from the back). It will then be accessible by the SCSI ID number set in the back plus 1.

I have a pdf document that tells you exactly how to open the drive up and it explains all the jumper settings - email me if you need it. My email is on the website.
