Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ok i searched the forum for this issue, but didnt find anything.

basically when i set the time signature to 4/4 its reverting back to 2/4 when i start to record. so then i choose each bar and change it to 4/4 but it does the same thing.. and sometimes when i hit record, three out of the four bars are 2/2 and then one of them is 4/4 which messes up the whole loop.

By chance, are you trying to sequence in SONG mode?

it's simple, just press main screen, and if the screen changes, than it means u were in song mode.
other thing that may be happening is that u dont press enter after making the change, or somthing like that, in the begining it used to hapen to me a lot

yup i just checked and i was at the main screen the whole time but then i switched to sequence 2 to see if the settings were messed up as well and all bars seem to be in 4/4..so there must be some setting i messed with on sequence one.

o well i'll just start on sequence 2

Maybe go through your manual some more and learn to manipulate your machine better.

Do what you want with it, not what it lets you do.

I just re-read you question so I'm not sure if this helps but...
If you change the time sig then add bars the new bars might not be in the right time sig. like bars 1 and 2 could be 4/4 then the ones you added 3 and 4 revert back to the default 2/4. You have to use the bar arrow keys(not cursor) and go to 3.00.00 and change it to 4/4 and to 4.00.00 and change it to 4/4, OR make the sequence the right number of bars then change the time sig.

When setting the time signature you must input for how many bars you wish to set this for. This is displayed after you hit enter over the time signature setting.
