Motherboard battery

Hi all

Do you know if there is a onboard battery on the 2000xl ?

If so, is it possible to change it ?

i somehow dont think there is a cmos battery on it...

what is the issue with your machine?

I can't use it anymore.

do you have the ram expanded? if so, remove the ram and try re-booting the machine. see if it helps... if it does then replace the ram.

Already done that.

I have tried with and without the ram modules.

The MPC boots and BAM I have this dumb error message.

Yeah I know this is a common error. I had it from time to time.

But what is not that common is that I have it each time I boot my MPC.

I did reinstall the OS, and still the same result.

check your connections inside of the MPC. start at the media reader/floppy drive.

Ah ha! The ever infamous!

I had this after copying over a whole bunch of files from one MP to another.

Have also had it after loading a bunch of samples to media.

Corrupt files is what caused it in both cases for me.

If you can't iron it out trying everything stated here, then it's a bad MP and you should sell it to me.
