Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Here's my setup -

MIDI Keyboard Out -> MPC 2000 Midi In
MPC Midi Out -> External Synth Midi In

I want to play notes on the keyboard, have them recorded on the MPC, and played back out to the synth. This works fine. The problem comes when I have samples on the MPC pad banks. Then notes of the recorded sequence trigger both the samples and the synths. Is there a way to have some tracks where the sequence notes do not trigger samples but are still transmitted out?

Thanks.

Uh..maybe I'm missing something but nothing there helps me.

I don't need local mode. I want my MIDI keyboard to NOT trigger samples that are assigned to notes in the current program.

Here's an example: I have a drum kit assigned to 16 pads in bank A. When I play any notes in the lower octave of my MIDI keyboard, those drum hits trigger in addition the synth notes. I want ONLY the synth notes to trigger when I hit a key.

Can I even do this on the MPC 2000? I've read through the whole manual and nothing there seems to address this.

I thought u knew about midi tracks already, lol. I thought maybe you had a deeper problem than that, lol. Sorry I didn't catch that one.
