compact flash questions

I have a couple questions regarding compact flash on the 2000xl:

- I understand that there is a 1 GB limit, but can this be overcome by partitioning a larger card into 1 GB partitions?

- Is there any particular brand that offers better compatability, or should any quality card do?

I tried searching the forum, but nothing seemed to jump out at me.

Also what sucks is there arent many retailers selling 1 gigs if at all. Im on ebay stalking up

You can but the partitions won't be recognizable when you load the card on your computer.
