Are these Rotary encoder the same? Which one is better?

Im fixing up an friends mpc2000xl and need some confirmation. The STEC12E08 looks the same as the STEC12E07 except it seems to have an extra support layer on the bottom on the encoder (in green). Is this better for the 2000xl? Thanks

Check the specs! The 08 is a recorder "mit Taster" while the 07 is "ohne Taster". Does the 2000XL have a pushbutton? No? Then I would take the STEC12E07

so is the STEC12E07 the same as original encoder on the 2000xl? i need a new one myself

i got the same Problem with my MPC,broken Data-Whell encoder!
i've buy these ALPS STE 07 and built in an it's exatlythe same Part from ALPS!
it works Great and cost me only 3€uro!
