Recording a sequence

After hours and days of going thru the board, and messing around with my MPC I think I got the hang of it.... or maybe not

Please tell me if I am doing it right this time.

For an example.. on sequence 1 I lay down each instrument in each track until I get a nice beat going.
THEN.. I open window on sequence 1, and copy the whole sequence to sequence 2.
From there I delete or add tracks to my liking, and so on..so on... with rest of the sequences until I finally think I have a complete song then I go into song mode and start arranging there.

I'm not sure if this is the right way to do it, but what the heck.. it works for me.

Yes, that's one way to do it.. But there is no "right" way to do it, you can do it however you feel it is natural to do. I like to use a different approach for different songs.. It all depends on what you're doing.

Bottom line is, if it works for you then it's all good.

I also have another question.
When I want to save my work.. do I have to save the new programs that I've created seperate first, and then save all sequence, and songs?

Also.. how do I make my mpc load up all of the pgm files at once?

dont matter what order you save. i usually save my sequences and songs first then save my programs then save my .aps file. im not sure if you have to save an aps file but my engineer told me to do all that.
