Im new here, and I just bought my first MPC. When I bought it, the seller said everything is in good shape and works okay. I get it in the mail and I keep getting disk errors, so I read around and figured it was probably an old floppy drive. Ive made multiple copies of the floppy disk and none worked.
So I ordered a new Floppy Drive and when it came in the mail I took apart my MPC to replace the drive.
Problem 1:
I replaced the floppy drive assuming it will fix things, and now everytime I turn it on, the screen immediately goes to "Disk Read Error!". Ive tried switching between drives and it says the same thing, even when there is no disk.
When I disconnect the floppy drives, everything boots the way it should, and it says "Insert MPC2000 Disk!".
So my question is, how come the second I disconnected the floppy drive, and added a new one, it gave me errors immediately and wouldnt even read disk anymore?
Problem 2:
I just accidentally tore the thick Floppy cable lol
Im really worried now because it ripped apart from the motherboard.
Is there anyway to replace this? I dont think I can just buy a new cable it looks like.
Honestly Im very unhappy with my MPC experience. Im thinking of just selling this shit and buying a different MPC. But if anyone has some suggestions please let me know
Thanks
