disk drive BROKEN!!!

when i tried to insert the system disk...the drive doesn't open.

it's like something's blocking the flap from opening.


i think i might be able to force it open but i don't know if i want to do that, i'm worried that i'll make it worse.


i don't know of anybody who'll be able to fix it, unless a normal computer shop could as it's only the disk drive.



i thought i could trust someone with a 99.5% positive feedback on ebay

there appears to be something obstructing the left corner of the flap from opening. also, the eject button cannot be pushed in- it's not sticking out as it would be if there was a disk inside, but on the disk drive on my computer the button can be pushed in a little bit.

if i open it up (the mpc2000, not the disk drive) is there a chance i might break it?

after prodding it around with a paper clip...the front panel of the disk drive just fell off...two things two hold it in place have snapped off (it was like it already).

the disk fits in and ejects as normal, so because the front panel just seems to serve as a door...i'll try it out without it.

you can alway replace it with another floppy drive run about 10 bucks here in the states you should be able to find one in the Uk

also the note variation slider is broken..doesn't seem to have any effect

not tryin to offend you but you prolly just dont know how to use the NOTE VARIATION slider

that might be the case..but i tried to use it after reading up on it in the manual, and i just didn't see the effects it described....plus the fact that when i got it, the knob on the slider was leaning to one side and doesn't run smoothly when i move it.



EDIT: nope...doesn't work, unless i should be doing something that isn't described in the manual.

when in the note variation window, the effect is only heard on the note when i change the low end value, which would suggest to me that the note variation slider is somehow stuck at the low end, and moving the note variation slider doesn't change its position

Hold shift and press note varation then press the pad you wanna mess with then move the slider and you should hear the effects of the movement
