8-Outs questions and such

I did some forum searching but any way I got some ?'s

Ive been rocking the 2KXL for a lil over 2 years now. Im going back to school MPC style. My work flow is great on the 2KXL but recording takes forever. Im going to upgrade to the 8-outs. This is unfamiliar territory that I never botherd to really learn.

*Well I know where to buy the 8-outs but how or where do I install it? Im afraid to tinker with my love

*Ive read that stereo/mono going through the outs will be 1/2 3/4 5/6 7/8 for stereo and 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 for mono. What does that mean? Are you able to record 8 tracks individually regardless of stereo/mono?

*On the subject of stereo/mono. Why do you record mono? I know it saves space but is that all?

*Ive got Pro-tools M-Box LE7 which has 2-ins. So when I get the MPC with 8-outs I need another 8-ins. I was doing some searching/questions and I guess a Digi 1, Digi 2, or Digi 3 is what I need? Not familiar with any of that stuff.

Ive only recorded a few beats and being able to do 8 tracks at a time would be VERY VERY beneficial.

okay, here is the deal. each of those outputs are mono. just like how the left and right outputs you already have are mono.... currently you have 2 outs (one left and one right)

so, if you are tracking out sounds you recorded in mono, you dont need to use any of those mono outputs as either left or right.

If you have adat input on your mbox (I dont know which models have it) you could cop an adat for like $50 used and add 8 outs. However, dont drop a g+ on an interface if you dont have to. Learn how to connect you mpc to PT via midi and 2 track for now.

Essentially I just want to record beats faster, way faster. Ive got a couple big beats with 12-16 track mutes.

They're not too hard to install, I just transfered mine from my old MPC 2000xl to my new MPC 2000xl SE3.
One connection and like 7 screws, so not too bad.
