Step Edit from 2500 -> 2kxl

I was considering selling my 2500 to cop a 2kxl, so I downloaded the manual for the 2kxl to try to familiarize myself
knowing the machine would have it's little differences.
my main concern is, in step edit on the 2500, the event time field is laid right there and simple to edit then move.
where is the event time field in the 2kxl? good looks. can this time field be adjusted like the 2500?

NO!

the step edit on the xl is one of the main diferences in work flow if your not used to it, it does not take long if your dedicated, shows more info straight away, but is not a GRID as such which does kinda suck. just note/pad informatin on each step at that time..

the xl is dope, no question but there is a learning curve from the 2500. not a bad thing though, you will find you make more simple straight up bangin boom bap outa that machine imo. as opposed to the 2.5k where the sky is the limit with a good mind, but the same is said for the xl if you a playa!

the only big issue i have is only a lpf, no hpf... so a mix can get muddy sometimes.. but i have the efx card so that has a dope eq/filter option in there!

i read in the manual that the 2kxl has a four band filter? 1 hi, 2 mids, and 1 low?

and without the ability to nudge and edit->move the event time field on the 2000xl, how can you really edit your swing?
i mean if you can't nudge the time fields, its either just quantize or no quantize beat? you can't dissect it further?

my bad about nitpicking martian, so you can edit-> move the time field in step edit?

ill give an example, lets say i have a kick on 01.01.32. on the 2kxl, could i edit-> move the 01.01.32 to 01.01.33 for example?
on the mpc2500, all i have to do is highlight the time event of 01.01.32 in step edit, hold F3 edit key, then hit move and i can fine adjust the time field with my data wheel.

#1- is there a way i can view the event locations of the hits i played, and want to copy?


also, the manual says;
Pasting an Event
To paste data which was copied to the clip board, specify the point where you want to paste it in
the Now: field and press PASTE [F5].

#2- the "Now" field, is that where i can numerically put in the event location i can put my hit?


if i have a kick recording, i just need the step function to be able to view the event location of my O.G hit, and also need the ability to then edit it . IE) be able to view the O.G hit location of 01.01.78, and be able to edit that to 01.01.80.

obviously i apologize cause im sure this would be clearer if i had the machine , but dnt got the funds to dish out the 2kxl unless if i get rid of the 2500. just trying to educate, good looks to everyone who posted!
