Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

New 2Kxl MIDI Voices?

The 128 MIDI voices that come with the 2Kxl seem really old and and bland, is there anyway to get new and improved MIDI voices into my 2Kxl, or am stuck with these?

What "midi voices" are you talking about?

Do you mean "audio samples"?

Hint: It's a "sampler" :!: :idea: :mrgreen:

no dummy, MIDI "voices" are the 128 different MIDI instruments or "programs" that come the XL, in the lower right hand corner, where it says "prg:OFF", when you scroll through those using a keyboard controller each number is a different MIDI instrument.

May need to glance back at that manual, that(PGM:) does not represent MIDI voices. The sounds your hearing are generic MIDI (GM) sounds or patches from some sound generator (maybe your keyboard?).
MPC 2000XL only allows 32 voices at once.

NO DUMMY! If you can HEAR the voices and KNOW they are LAME and they CAME with the mpc then they must be the SAMPLES that CAME with the mpc.

Actual "Midi voices" that you can HEAR obviously come from OTHER gear and that OTHER gear didn't COME with the mpc IDIOT, residing IN the mpc would be SAMPLES.
Actually and factually dasinsation has a deeper knowledge than you. Come at me like that, know ur fukkin facts and figures first THEN come to the table. :evil:


Or in a more mature voice, maybe the op is not terming the voices he/she is hearing correctly and calling them midi voices when they may be the samples loaded from some of the default programs. We won't know until the op details exactly how these "voices" are loaded and what file they are loaded from. IF there is other gear connected via midi or not will tell whether they are samples or not, misjudged as "midi voices" or "samples", we just don't know. So for you to come at me like that is premature and inconsiderate of the facts big man

My 4k manual says "music production center"

Why on earth people like this buy samplers, don't know what they are, don't read the manual then come on here asking for specific instructions on how to use them is beyond me. Why did you decide on a MPC2000xl and not a guitar or a new coffee maker?

I been making beats/music for years, however I could, by any means necessary because sometimes all you can afford is a Zoom SampleTrak instead of a 2-3 thousand dollar MPC.

plus your beats're wack, Walmartian or whatever, all that knowledge isn't gettin' you any talent, so drop the attitude, help people out when you can and hope that one day you can say you contributed to someone who actually had talent.

Your question made no sense because you lack basic knowledge. That knowledge can be attained by, like you said face time experimenting with the MPC or simply reading the manual. You did neither and therefore are looking for a handout. I help lots of people on this site, just not lazy idiots looking for someone to hold their hand because they don't want to invest the time to read about a machine they claim they want to use to make music. Thanks for listening I'm not trying to impress anyone with my 3 year old throw away beats posted on myspace. Some people like the music I make, others don't. You have the right to your opinion. Now where's your beats at Rhett "super talented" Putnam?
