Volume when making a beat

When your making a beat,say you get ur sample,lay it down,and then u add drums over top,how do u turn the volume down on ur dreams after youve laid them dowm,i know u can do it beforehand in the mixer,but how do u do it,once uve layed a drum pattern down

go to the mixer screen and push the pad you want to turn down... then jog wheel down.

but if uve just made a Drum loop,can u turn that drum loop down,i

shift-f5 and go to params in the trim screen and turn down the level on the 2000 classic

Make sure you don't turn down your dreams too much or you'll lose them. hahaha

If your sounds are on different tracks you can also turn down the velocity of the track.

Make sure you are creating your beat track by track. I put kicks on one snares on another bass on another so on and so on. This way you can better control what needs to be louder or lower

yeah and on the 2000 the mixer volumes basically control the volumes of the pads. you push the kick pad and adjust it, then the snare pad and adjust that. that way all your sequences (patterns) that you made will all have the same levels.

Im curious to know what volume setting peeps on here most commonly set the Main Output Decibel level too?
I usually set mine to 6 Db's...and occasionally 12Db's. Thats one of the cooler features on the MPC's that I wish other companys would of incorporated into their products.
