Converting 24bit samples to 16bit...

Listen, quick question for those who would like to help...knowing that the mpc only reads 16bit samples is there a way to convert 24bit samples down to 16's??? Thanks for all who can offer an answer.

As far as I know, you can't convert them on the mpc. You'd need audio software( Pro Tools, Sonar..etc). It'll have a feature to Dither (Convert) audio files from 24 bit to 16 bit. Hope that helps you out.

In Sound Forge, go to "Process" and then click on "Bit Depth Convertor".
