Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ok. So I've learned how to sample and chop and all that good stuff. My question remains: how do I set it so when I play a sound from any pad, that when I play a different sound on any particular pad, that the second sound cuts off the first? Thank you in advance if anyone can help me out.

I found it's necessary to change the settings from poly to note off to cut off sounds just incase anyone stumbles upon this wondering the same thing.

ya good looking homie now that you did your research ill explain a little something with note off it means it only plays as long as you holding the pad down, with mono its cut the pad off and dosent let it overlap but go to the setting where you choose mono, poly, or note off and try hitting open window ;) you can choose what sound you want that pad to cut off hope this helps understand the different settings alright man one keep learning that mp!

congrats.. and you get 10 points for finding the answer to your problem here instead of creating a new thread like the creator of this thread. He should have RTFM, or at least used the search function like you did. Props.
