Got a beats CD rom and am loading the 808.PGM, or whatever but the window comes up with cannot find this that or the third file so I skip the ones it cant find and when its finished there are no sound loaded at all. Im sure its something to do with the little ~1 that the MPC seems to add, any ideas!?

That seems to make reference to problems with loading from floppies - does the same ring true for CDrom?

Guess ill just have to load them individually!

FOund a thread on page 2 regarding this too - Looks like im screwed cos the PGM needs to have sound files with less than 8 characters in order for the MPC to recognise them..

Yeah, the MPC will shorten everything to XXXXX~1.SND but the PGM will reference XXXXXXXXXXXXX.SND. It's due to the file transfer method in getting the sounds into your MPC via disk from a computer - but if you are loading the CDROM directly into your MPC this shouldn't happen, not unless the CDROM was originally created incorrectly.
