Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Sup yall,

I'm having a slight problemo trying to use my MPC via MIDI in Protools. I have the midi outs and ins connected correctly. I set the Midi Track on ProTools to read channel 1A on the MPC. I set the track on the MPC to send out channel 1A. When I record enable the track on Pro Tools and hit a pad on the MPC, the signal on the Pro Tools tracks goes infinate(hits the peak) and freezes.

So I tried this...

I did everything the same except for connecting the Midi Out of Pro Tools to the Midi In on the MPC. The signal was normal and did not peak and freeze.

Then I disconnected the Midi Out of the MPC from the Midi In of Pro Tools and connected the Midi Out of Pro Tools to the Midi In on the MPC. This allowed me to here the play back of what I recorded into Pro Tools.

As you can see I'm only having a problem when the MPC Out is connected to Pro Tool's In, and the Pro Tool's Out is connected to the MPC's In. It keeps freezing the computer and saying something about a double signal.

Can someone please help me out with this one. I thought I had this midi *hit down, but I guess I've got a lot to learn. Good lookin out yall. Holla Back
