Cant get MPC 2000 XL to pick up drive!!!!

Hi,
Ive got a external spyrus cf reader and am trying to get my mpc 2000 xl to pick up the drive.
when i got the drive it was picked up by my mpc when i set the mpc to pick up on scsi device 1 but does not seem to be able to now. i want to know if this is the right setting to do for the drive and if not what should i do. i know my scsi port on the mpc is ok as my iomega zip drive can be picked up.

Im not exactly sure what you mean by terminated. my iomega zip has termination switch's on the back and the spyrus drive has somthing on the back that says "1" if that means anything. As i said before it was being picked up by my mpc.
would you think that it has to be set to device 1?
