Can't save sounds on my MPC 2000XL

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me on this: I've got an MPC 2000XL with an internal
ATAPI zip drive (IOMEGA Zip 100) and everytime I try to save a sound/sequence "Write Protect" or "Disc Read Error" appears on the screen. I was considering anyway to buy a SCSI external drive for storage but my fear is that I'll need to face the same problem.
Can someone help?
