Peace everyone. I was wondering being I read the specs to the 8 outs. I understand the record in has balanced inputs so I am straight I am about to order gold tipped XLR to TRS so I can come Stereo out of my Yamaha O2R 24/96 into my MPC balanced. All my hardware modules are coming into that board TRS TO XLR INPUTS in the O2R.

Now I read that the 8 outs which I have are unbalanced. Are the Stereo outs also unbalanced or balanced?

Now here is what I want to do, I want to get TRS to XLR so it can go out 8 tracks into my O2R plus the two stereo tracks TRS TO XLR into my O2R two tracks. Now will I get the balanced sound I want if I do that? I would like to know before I purchase the snake and the two other cables thanks.

Thanks for the reply bro, but I know all that what I wanted to know, is if I get the balanced cables for the 8 outs and Stereo outs would I be able to benefit from them though they are unbalanced? I don't know why Akai just didn't make them balanced in the first dang on place. the 2500 is balanced all 10 outs. I am going XLR into my mixer, I want my sound big as possible with less noise as possible.

Peace

My point is the sound you get depends on the outputs (not the cables).
That's why I posted the actual stats from the manual so you can see that all you get is unbalanced.

It is what it is.

2500 is more current than 2kxl.

Gotcha, thanks a lot. They still should have all the MPC's balanced out, the old ones to the current. At least recording in is balanced, because at this time I am using unbalanced TR that's why when I hear the modules one way then when I come into the MPC it sounds a lil different. Now I see why. So when they go out the MPC into my O2R 96 A/D and go into ProTools which is all in the digital domain it will all sound nice and big.

I am going to use XLR TO TRS Gold plated, for the best connection coming out XLR Stereo from my Mixer into the MPC, because all my Modules are running into the O2R. So I should be good from there.

For the most part remember the XL has the 8 optional outs and they should of made those balanced, because it doesn't even come with the standard MPC.

Thanks again bro
Peace

unbalanced wont make any difference if you keep them short and routed away from power cables

and gold plated is the biggest con ever, i've heard coat hangers that sound better

Wasn't there a thread about a coat hanger some years
ago, where someone here actually tested that out?

yeah. i forget exactly but i think it was a blind test of monster cables vs coat hangers, the so called audiophiles couldn't tell the difference
