Error in Akai IB208P?

Hi

I've just bought an Akai 2kxl with the IB208P installed. But when I hit SHIFT + SAMPLE and I wanna change the input from analog to digital, the screen goes crazy and shifts between saying that there is no digital intput, and something about "peak-reset" (it changes very rapidly, so I can barely read it). The input level rises to max when it gives the last mesasge, and then disapears when the "no input" screen returns.

Ive tried to search for a smimilar error on the forum, but I havent found anything.

I really hope somene is able to clarify whether this is a common error that I can fix, or the IB208P is doomed

Hmm, now it seems that the not-working digital I/O is affecting other areas too. After I have switched from analog to digital as described in my first post, the output of the MPC starts tp have noise on it.

I just tried to switch from analog to digital again, and when I went back to the main window, and recorded a sequence with some loaded samples, some of the samples was "destroyed" and it seemed i triggered the sample AND some hellish white noise??

Am I really the first one to have problems with the IB-M208P?

The MPC2000XL only works with SPDIF at a rate of 44.1 KHz and 16 bit.

If you feed it anything else then it could run wild as you describe ...

Thank you for your answer, and yea I know But when it acts as described it is not connected to any external sources.

If it was just the IB-M208P that wasnt working, I guess I could live with that, but it scares me a bit that it also affects the rest of the sound engine...

Might want to check the memory also.Sometimes white noise can be caused by corrosive memory or dust.
