Problems with Sampling into MPC 2000.

Until recently, I was using a USB turntable to get my samples onto my laptop, so I could remove excess noise, amplify certain parts, timestretch etc then load them by floppy using a usb floppy drive.

But as that turntable crapped out, I've wanted to sample straight from my Turntables into my MPC and for some reason, I can't seem to.

I've got my Numark Pro TT2's - Behringer V300 Mixer - RCA to 1/4 inch jack cable running into the back of my MPC and the RCA connectors on LINE and then when I hit record and let the record play and then stop the recording, The sound that plays out on the pad is just noise...

I tried to search it..so I apologise if it's been covered..I wouldn't be suprised if it was something straight forward.

i did not understand at all your setup, BUT with your mixer and turntable you 4 sure should be able to record directly into your mpc... just connect your tt to the mixer...and connect one of your master outs of the beringer mixer to the line in of the mpc.... should work....

If you're recording into your MP on mono make sure the cable from your mixer is plugged into the correct input. If that isn't it maybe check to see if your record in is turned up.

a. your inputs on the MPC could be bad.... plug another audio source into it and try sampling... if you get static, then its your inputs.

b. are you running your TT's through a preamp before the signal reaches your MP?

You said your RCA connectors are on 'LINE'? That is wrong. Your turntables should be hooked into PHONO on the mixer, and the RCA -> 1/4" connector should be hooked into 'AMP', or 'TAPE' on the back of the Behringer (I have the VMX300, very bad mixer but it was cheap).

'LINE' is reserved for CD player / external audio source inputs, not outputs.
