Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

so my mpc 2000 is doing something strange. If i have a beat tracked out, and then add a new sample - after trimming that sample it is automatically assigning it to a pad with a sample aready on it - its odd

for example, If i have a beat where the hi hat is on the first pad in bank A, if i chop a new sample, when i return back to the main screen from the trim page, that new sample will be on the hi hat pad and the hi hat is gone. I havent quite figure out if there is a method , like if it assigns to the last pad i hit - but its pretty annoying

anyone experienced anything like this? or have any ideas on what could be going on?

thanks in advance

yeah it does that, you are loading it to that pad during your process... you can use the jog to change the pad.. i forget what exact window it shows that.

when you chop the sample name it press enter then go push down arrow and assign the pad you want it to go to, If you dont assign it on the screen where you name it the 2000 will automatically put it on the last pad you were using, I had this prob when I was learning the 2000
