so wich kind of floppy i need that fit into the mpc 2000 ???
and is there a alternative lcd that i can use ?

im lookin for a cheap deal, the original parts are to expensive, im lookin for some alternative stuff, no matter if the size do not fit precise, i just want to make it work.

Floppy: TEAC FD-235HF (There are tons of different series of this drive. I think you'll need one with jumpers. Not sure thou)

LCD: No alternative yet. You need the original. Since they are unavailable in shops you'll need to search ebay, craiglist whatever. Or buy another 2000 for spare parts.

can somebody tell me where i can find a data sheet or the specifications for the original akai lcd ?

thanks in advance

dude, countless times that has been asked.... hell, even some techs and engineer type people here on the forums have been trying to crunch that problem. the only thing in existance that uses that LCD is the 2000 and the 2000xl. The model is proprietary and that is why it is so expensive. Some guys here even found a company in asia who could manufacture new ones and that wound up being very expensive and also they would have to order a large quantity. The upside is, if we ordered like 1000 screens to be made they would only cost us like 150 or something like that if I remember correctly.

some guys even were working on repairing the damaged screens, but that wound up being a dead end because it has something to do with glue drying out and some other stuff. take a search around the forum in the 2000/2000xl section and check out the threads.

peace.
