SO I GOT A MPC AND NO START UP DISK

HEY UM YEAH..
SOME OF U GOOD FOLKS IN THE FORUM
HELPED ME OUT BY DIRECTING ME
TOO THE AKAI SITE FOR THE NEWEST
OS VERSION
I SAVED IT TO MY
CPU AND UNZIPPED IT
PUT IT ON A DISK AND TOSSED IT IN THE MPC
IT DIDNT WORK
AM I
MISSING
SOMETHING????
I JUST WANNA MAKE BEATS DAMN IT!!!

make sure its not in a folder on your disk. the 2000 cant read folders

also make sure you put both files on your disk. There's 2 of them.

i just got my mpc - threw the os disk in it and it reads it no problem and i get the main screen...

but when i restart the machine wihout the disk in it it wants me to insert the mpc2000 disk again.

im assuming that theres a way to get it so i wont have to always have the boot disk in my floppy drive. anyone know what i gotta do?

If i'm not mistaken then the mpc2000 needs a bootdisk since it has no flash rom to store its os.
