first time tracking out beats from my mpc 2000xl

hi, everyone this is my first time getting ready to track out beats from my mpc 2000xl to my computer and i am looking for any help. My question is it easier or better to use midi or should i purchase a mixer and a decent soundcard and use the outs on the back of my mpc? If any one could give me some insight on using midi and or using the 8 outs.

midi dont send sound it's data to talk to another instrument with midi.
yeah that would be your best best and probably the better quality sound out of it..

if you have 8outs then you can track 8 different sounds at once so you would need amixer with more then 8 inputs cause if your using midi you want to get those outputs in to the mixer aswell.

i'm using a 12channel mixer ,trust me i need more tracks . buy with the most channelsthen your thinking cause that piece that you never expected will come into the mix and then you'll have to get antoher mixer. i was given a 16 track and then they asked for it back , man i was spoiled at that point, i need to start looking again.
just my experience in the last 10 years with my xl i just put in a zip100man i love it more, i have to refrain from getting on it cause my wife may get jealous , i kinda sensed somthing will i was installing the zip yesterday.

It all depends on your interface and how many tracks u can record at a time, if you only have 2 inputs you have to use midi and slave the computer to the mpc so that when u record each track they start at the right time sinc youll be recording each track individually, u dont really need a mixer, all u need is a decent interface preferably one that can record multiple channels like an 003 rack or presonus firestudio that can record 8 tracks at a time and most of these come with recording software as well

I just do audio out for each track.

Do i need some kind of midid connection to save my beats on the 2000XL. Everytime i make a a beat and try to save, it sounds all **** up and nothing like did. help ya boy out

make a beat
make a new folder with the name of that beat
save all programs and sounds (Its an option) in that folder
save all seq and songs in that folder
turn off mpc
turn on mpc
load screen
navigate to the folder
load all.prgms (usually first thing)
load all seq (usually last thing)
