Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

whats up, im new to the board but I come here once in a while to read. Basically I had an mpc1000 had to sell it to pay rent, now I have ended up with a borrowed mpc2000xl. I wanted to buy the compact flash reader kit but for now its too expensive and I was looking for cheaper alternatives for storage. I was wondering about a scsi to usb cable hooked up from the external mpc scsi to an external harddrive. Has anyone tried this or have any idea if it works? thanks

If it worked we'd all be doing it :)

Seriously , even in instances where those SCSI to USB work, they are interminably slow.
Look for an external SCSI hard drive on ebay, bearing in mind that only the first 9GB will be usable by mpc2000xl.
A 9.1GB disk would therefore be ideal.
