Just wasted 50 euro for an ATA/CF typeI/II cardreader..WTF

the drive says jp2 (jumper 2): 1-2 short =>type 2 slave mode
2-3 short =>type 2 master mode

there are no no switches on the back....

the MPC does not recognize the drive as i get the message floppy not ready...everything is connected,the green and red lights are on,so is the data cable (same as ZIP)

Question: does the MPC not read IDE drives? Only ATAPI/IDE?

I mean the guy at MPC Stuff is selling them..

Man now i have to buy a decent external ZIP drive cause at the moment i can't save shiznit..the old NEC ZIP drive is corrupt.

Try each jumper setting and reboot each time when you try.

2kxl manual, pg 153, SETTING UP the Primary Device

i cannot change the jumpersetting,it has no switches on the back..is there a way of adjusting something inside the mpc?

didn't buy it at mpcstuff but he says the cf-card cannot be removed while the mpc is on wich means he ain't selling atapi readers. (with ide you need to startup with the cf in the slot OTHERWISE IT WON'T READ.)

i'm buying a xl-mcd and selling this one (regular blue with ZIP) if there is no solution

The regular blue 2kxl is exactly the same as the one you have now, lol.

There is no difference except the color of the faceplate.

If you aren't able to set your jumpers to try master, slave, single then it may be that you can't use it.

Save that "blue xl" money and find an atapi drive somewhere or.

Try os1.20 for ide
