Thats a pretty broad question there buddy, lol...
I would recommend first of all, finding a bass tone/patch that sounds good. Then just play around on the keys (or MPC pads) along with the beat/sample until you hit a note that matches the sample. Then just build on that note till you get some heat going... Know what I mean?

yeah, sometimes you will only get 2 notes that will work. think of the bass sort of like percussion(i.e. a rythm instrument) that helps too. The RZA does it perfect "da doooooooon!" ya know?
like find the notes to the sample, then work the notes to the drums, not the sample(unless it really **** up the progression of the sample.)
