2000xl 8 out question that hasn't been asked, i've checked..

So I just got the IB-208p board from a s2000 and I threw it in my 2000xl with all the mounting mods and extended cable in place. But I am getting nothing out of it. I went in to the mixer screen on the mpc and set my tracks up and still nothing but glitchy high pitched pops and noises come out when I hit play. The same happens when I play out of the normal 1/4 inch output on the back.

Now Im not feeding into a mixer, only trying to test it with my head phones moving from one of the 8 outs to another to see if the board works.

any sugestions, Ive gone over everything time and time again and I still am getting this problem.

not 100% sure, got it off ebay from a reputable seller who had nothing but good reviews.

but even if it was broken why would my main output be doing the same as the 8 outs?

what effects would not having the board properly grounded have on the sound?
just a thought since I only have mine attached to the back of the mpc with some washer nuts threaded onto the actual 1/4 inch outs.

I don't have my 8out like that, it's just a ribbon cable and that's it (I installed it myself).

sorry that may have seemed confusing. The board I got didn't have the mounting plate for it so I slid the board into place and secure it with just two nuts on the back. I didn't do this to ground it but solely to secure it (in my mind at the time). I was curious reading the thread that you posted above because one guy talked about grounding the board with modded plate mounts since he was in the same position as I with out a proper mounting plate.

On some of the IB M208P 8-out boards there is a ferrite bead (ferrite core, ferrite ring, ferrite EMI filter, ferrite choke) snapped on around the main cable to the motherboard. It's supposed to suppress high frequency noises in electronic circuits.
Does yours have one?

But Im not even hearing anything remotely sounding like my tracks just the glitchy noises. They don't sound like or follow any aspect of what I have programed into my sequences. I don't even want to worry about the three "on top ofs" that you mentioned until I can get these outputs to work.

No it doesn't I just have a standard 34 pin ribbon cable straight up.
