Saving folders on your computer for your MPC

Have a question here... I would like to categorize my samples as follows:

Kit01 (folder)
> Kicks (folder)
> Snares (folder)
> Perc (folder)

Meaning one folder (Kit01) that contains 3 sub-folders (Kicks, Snares, Perc).

I created this structure in the 2KXL and then proceeded to upload the samples on the cf card via the usb multi-card reader on my Macbook Pro. The problem I'm having now is that the 2KXL will not "see" the samples... I can see the folder, the 3 sub-folders but there's nothing inside.

If I place the samples at the first level however (the root folder) then I can see them but that's not what i want. Too many samples to scroll through.

It does not seem like there's a way to place all the sample inside the folders within the 2KXL itself, hence the need for a computer to organize things.

How are you guys doing this? How would you place let's say 50 kick samples into a "Kicks" sub-folder located into a "Kit01" folder"?

Is it possible first of all?

wait what if you save only the pgm the saves all the sound from the pgm what you have to do is
load every sound as you want so if you want just snares you prgm all the snares in to that pgm on your pads so let say all banks are full of just snares now save it under the kit01 but in its own folder say snare,so main root folder is kit01 then inside is snare folder.do the same for kicks hihats.
thats what i do.and it works for me, the only thing i'm runing into now is i run out of space faster, i can only fit like 4-5 folders on one zip100,i knnow its not a lot of space but it works.
and i can read them in the pc, it's only when the disc is formatted on the mpc that it wont read on the pc,if i format fat on the pc it will read on both.

..and when you run outta disk/cf/floppy space, use less samples, manage sample size better
get more zips, floppies, cf's or all of the above.

i make folders inside of of those root folders,my samples are mostly oneshots inless it's a phrase or movie sample, i guess 150 mb more realy does make that much difference, but in 10yrs i have 8 250 zips of all my work and now with a 100mb zips i got way more, and less kits on the zips.i need to check how many mbs a full folder is.

got you , thats what i do keep them on seprate disk, but yeah you right i totaly forgot about mono VS stereo samples, i started doing that when my friend got his 1000 just so i can session with him,but i need to stop that cause my disk space is vital here.
