OS Upgrades...

Just got the 2000xl, it has the original OS on it, I was wondering if it was best to upgrade to another OS and if so which one? I'm sure this topic has come up before, I tried searching the forums but could not find the answer I was looking for. Thanks in advance.

(ALSO): Is it possible on any operating system for the 2000xl to make it so an entire program can be made into mono? I'm still used to how the 1000 works, so it's a bit dissapointing to only be able to have a sample be cut off by two assignable pads, rather than every pad in the program, kind of limiting the way i chop my samples.

you are lucky. No need to think about changing the os. There are no options:) Only possible to upgrade to version 1.14 or something, if you want to have a cardreader there.

I'd recommend going with os 1.14, which you may already have. To check it, press SHIFT 8, then VER. 1.14 is the last version that supported partitioning which will allow you to use SCSI media larger than 1GB and up to 16GB with our CF-CARD card reader drive.

is it possible to make it so that every pad cuts eachother off though? Right now, at least the way i've been programming, I can only make a sample mono corresponding to two other pads, am I doing something wrong? Or is that just how it is, and I'll have to get used to using the note off mode? lol
