note variation slider does not appear to be working

My note variation slider does not appear to work. The slider button itself is missing and the lever is slightly bent. Unless this is an easy fix I will be sending the machine back to the previous owner, I recall really enjoying the fluid bending of note data with this slider.

So, if it is indeed broken, what say ye? Forget about fixing it or is it an easy work around?

found the answers, once I had time to search Lampdog provided many links. I would call it a somewhat easy fix, as long as I can find the part. Many of the links are from some time ago, when I went to MPCstuff it seems they have one for the 3000 in stock currently. When I am ready to have my guy who designs and makes effects pedals to solder for me, I'll intensify the search. Any input appreciated.
