As much work as I did on the MPC a decade ago, I never used MIDI. That fact alone is pretty strange I guess. I didn't have a synth then but I do now, a Novation KS4.
I have the MPC MIDI out A going to the Novation MIDI In, and the MPC MIDI In 1 coming from the Novation MIDI out.
The only sounds I can get out of the synth keyboard are sounds on the MPC
I have the synth set to Global Midi Channel 1, the clock set to external, and the local control set to on (but have been experimenting both ways with no luck)
I have the MPC track set to MIDI: 1A, soft thru OFF, receive ALL, MIDI filter OFF (but have been experimenting with no luck)
What am I missing?
The primary function right now I am aiming for is to simply hear and record random synth sounds through the MPC midi channel. I'll worry about syncing arpeggiators etc later on.
help is always appreciated. thanks.
