Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hello,

I hope it's the good section for my question.

I use a MPC 2000XL and recently got an USB ZIP to backup my zips on the computer.

As I know about akai VS FAT partitions, I first got CDxtract, but it wasn't able to read my zips.

So I grab MPC Editor and it's the same.

I don't get what I'm missing, can someone help me please?

Thanks

Thanks for the answer but I know that.

My problem is I got an akai formated zip full of sounds that I want to save.

It seems that I'm stuck.

Or I can load sounds into the mpc then save'em on a fat formated zip... :(

Yes. But there are easier methods. Use any disk imager to backup the disk. Image backup is your best option since you don't run into Akai<->PC name length issues. I'm pretty partial to free software such as: https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download

Also, doesn't the MPCEditor have a disk backup option?

BTW, the MPCEditor is pretty much a one way trip, PC->MPC. It doesn't work, nor was it designed, to go the other way.

I don't understand the interest of win32diskimager : "This utility is used to write Ubuntu img files to SD and USB cards.
Simply run the utility, point it at your img, and then select the
removable device to write to."

Anyone knows how to backup an Akai formated zip please ?
