Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Compaq 40/80Gb external DLT drive with SCSI connection:

Its originally made for server backups or something, does it work as a file manager for my MPC 2000? Thanks.

Yes I think you can connect it to the MPC2000 but the 2000 only "see" ........hm I'm not sure but I think 9GB ...or is it just 1GB..... anyways, you wont be able to use the the 40 or 80 GB.

The 2K will be able to handle up to 1GB of a SCSI HD.
The 2000XL can handle up to 9GB.

Depending on the price of that external HD, you'd be better off with an internal card reader from SCSI for Samplers.

Not true... I have a 2GB SCSI HD hooked up to my 2k classic now and it reads it all. SCSIforsamplers advertises up to 16GB CF cards. I'm not sure what the limit is.

Thanks guys. Well the unit is only 20 bucks, and only SCSI type drive in finnish ebay, so I think im going to cop it. 2GB is still better than 1.44mb :lol:
