can a mpc 2000xl have the mpc 3000 sound?

My friend is selling me his 2000xl for $400 cus he just got the 2500. This would be my first mpc but I do know for certain I like the sound of the 3000. I read the mpc 3000 has the akai s3000 sampler engine inside, so my question would be if I bought a s3000 and sampled my drums thru it, and sended it to the 2000xl. Would that give me the same sound as the mpc 3000? Or should I just hold out and pick up a 3000 when I get the extra $$$...

I dont think you should do that for "the mpc 3000 sound"... maybe you should figure out the difference between the sound of the 3k and 2k before you make an investment on those grounds.

the 3000 might be great for the type of sampling it does compared to the 2k (the system is different)


or maybe you could look at something like the s900/s950 also if you are determined to try and get a different sound because that is way more noticable.
