Copper-coloured metal pieces inside the front panel?

Hey, I just opened my MPC, and tried to fix my LCD. When I closed the front panel, I noticed that I accidentally broke the copper- coloured metal pieces within the front panel. I decided to unscrew them and throw away. What is the purpose of them?

Eh nothing much I think it provides extra support to the top PCB board to keep it from vibrating when you hit the pads... no big deal I don't think.

Just a word of advice you probably shouldn't get into the habit of opening your MPC and throwing away whatever you forgot to put back in Just a thought.

Yeah, In this case I just happened to break the parts.

I think those coppers pieces are for grounding the cover to the rest of the metal frame.

Well If its not in place anymore, how will it affect? Do I now get electric shocks or what?

Well I've successfully established myself as the non-expert on this thread, but I can't imagine they are that important, seeing as they sell wood front panels that definitely don't have that copper piece. Also, I don't see why you would need to ground a piece of plastic that is only there for aesthetic purposes to the rest of the assembly anyways.

Probably something horribly wrong with what I just said...

Ah i have only opened a 2000 classic, which is why I was confused. I opened up my new 2kxl today and I see what you are talking about with the two copper pieces on the side... not exactly sure how important those pieces are. If you are hearing ground noise or getting shocked, I would look into somehow re-grounding your cover to the main assembly, but i'm pretty sure you'll be fine.
