Pad trick?

Hi,

I have been using the mpc 1000 and now using mpc 2000xl and would like to know if there is any way to programme the pads the way I did with the 1000.
I have checked the manual and could not shed any light on this, appreciate your help.
When I hit one pad and then hit another one, how can the first pad hit stop sounding. With mpc1000 I managed to do it but know it's being impossible.

Been ages since i used the 2kxl, but think you hit open window somewhere down in the right corner in the program menu, where you set poly or mono, though i might be way off..

It is possible though.

I use a 2000 classic, but i think this still applies to the 2kxl..
Go to the program window, go to parameters, and in the bottom right corner theres a thing that says overlap. hit open window on there, and itll open the mute assign window.
once youre in there, hit which pad you want. then, below, use the wheel to select which pad you want it to mute.

so if you are on pad A01, and you select pad A02, whenever you hit pad A01, A02 will stop playing.

the 2000 classic only lets you select 2 mute assigns per pad, im not sure if thats any different on the 2000 xl or the 1000.

Yes, this is exactly how the 2kxl works. Also, there are only two mute assign slots.
