Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Is it true that the MPC's SCSI id is 5 or 6 and that you have to have a Zip drive with the same SCSI id? And how do you determine what the SCSI id is for your Zip drive...? Thanks

Let's see.
I think the Zip disk can either be SCSI #5 or #6.

I might be wrong, but a MPC with no internal SCSI drive would really be SCSI #0, although you don't use it.

Peace.

The MPC itself has a fixed ID, it is not 0 and is thoroughly explained in the Appendix of the manual.

SCSI operation for Zip drives is explained in the Zip drive manual.

I would try to say myself, but I do not rely on memory.

^^ Correctamundo. I keep my hard drive on scsi 4 and my zip on scsi 5. There's a switch on the back of the zip to change ID's. Make sure it's not on 6!
