trim end point whistle, humm, echo

dear knowledgable mpc dons
when i shorten end point of sample listen to it then make the end point longer, a whistle appears in the space between the 2 new points. the biggr the space the lower pitched the sound becomes. if i move it to its furthest point an echo is created.
i must be doing something wrong......its really starting to get on my nads

I'm not sure I understand your question properly....
Could you give a little bit more details, like what kind of a sound it is ?

i sample a sound ie a 2 bar drum sound. then i try to edit it down to the right length (in trim mode) to loop it. i can move the start point back and forth and preview no problem. when i try to do the same with the end point (move it back and then forward again) a high pitched whistle starts and the futher that you move it forward it seems to echo (loop?) the last position to the new position of the end point. it is echoing (looping?) the part between the last 2 points that i have previewed.
the 2 bars play then this echo continues at the end

But I'll give it a try anyway..

The TRIM window let's you trim the sound.
The LOOP window let's you change the looping point (the point where the sample will go back to once it has reached the end.)

You have to be in the LOOP window to change the loop settings (press F2 from the TRIM window to get into the LOOP window).

When you edit a sample in the TRIM window, that is how it will play when you press the pad. If you have LOOP turned on, once the sound reaches the end point it will start again, but this time from the LOOP starting point.

If you want the loop to start from where you set your sample to start, make sure to set the LOOP starting point the same as the TRIM starting point
(for example if your TRIM starting point is set at 233456, then set the LOOP starting point to 233456 as well so it will loop from the beginning again)
