Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Greetings

I m a newbie to the 2000XL. Been trying to convert my samples collection into SND format.

I am using the RS-16 program for the conversion and transfer the converted files (SND format) to a CDR.

Via SCSI, i tried to load the converted samples files onto the sampler, but without any success. The sampler display just shows "?????" file type.

Any advise will be appreciated, thank you in advance

Peace
Jon

Hi again,

To add to my post, i have also tried without success, shortening the sample's name to less than 8 characters as i read in one post mentioning to keep the names no more than 8 characters.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, i have been reading some posts re the card reader and looks like i will be needing one. : )

The RS16 didnt shorten the names automatically, i just did it manually which is a pain.

Do you know of other ways in speeding up the name shortening process? I am running on a Mac.

Thanks again

Peace

Why do you need to convert them to SND format? The XL reads WAV files, so as long as they are 16 bit PCM WAVs, they'll load up fine, no conversion needed. On a Mac, Quicktime should be able to convert the AIFF to WAV (not sure if that's just Quicktime Pro though)
