Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Just got a 2000 mint in original box. homey had it in storage for like 10 years.
I wanna use it as the main sequencer for my live pa midi rig and when i get the 8 outs as the main sampler too.

i was under the impression that you can trigger sequences from hitting the pads... ( not sure where i got that idea). is it possible ?

also i skimmed the manual to figure out how to mute/unmute trax by hitting the pads ( like on my 500) but all i found was the little track mute button right under the screen... not as cool.

I heard that you can play a "fill" sequence by turning the big knob... what would that be called in the manual ? i didn't seem to find it.

any feed back would be appreciated. ima read this manual again and see what i missed the first time

When the MPC is playing a sequence
before it ends you can turn the big knob (using the word scroll)
and go to any sequence you like...and it will play after the first one finishes.

I believe you can not play seqiences with the pads but only tracks
but it is very easy to make all sequences fit to one track hence there you go

and IMO the Track Mute function is the coolest one my MP got... :D

Anyway I am using a 2kXL and dont really know the differences
BUT i belive these functions are common
