Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have made beats on my mpc 1000 for quite a while. I usually will record my sequences after i mix them in the 1000 then bring them over via usb after i save them. Then each part of beat comes over in a wav files and I put the puzzle together from there.

I just recently purchased a mpc 2000. I just want to know how i can take my sequences off and edit them in my computer? Or can i have it hooked up so that all of my actions on the 2000 get recorded into a software on my computer.

Any advice or info would be great. Most people ask why I bought one well i got it crazy cheap and i would like to use it just incase anything happened to my 1000.

Thanks.

One word: MIDI. Everything you asked about is done via MIDI. With MIDI, you can use the MPC1000 to control the MPC2000 or vice versa. If you have a computer-based sequencer program, you can record the MIDI from the sequences on your MPC1000 into the sequencer. Or you can record the audio, whichever you prefer (I'd do it with MIDI as that will give you the most flexibility for later playback). It's all about the MIDI - learn it and use it.
