swapping an 8 out from a 2000 to a 2000xl

Whats up,
I just picked up an mpc2000 for cheap because the LCD is going bad. I got it in hopes of taking out the 8 outs and putting them into the XL. I am sure this can be done, but wondering if there is anything I should look out for before I try my hand at playing mr. fix it.

unplug the machines, get grounded, disconnect everything gently, make photos how everything was fitted together.....board on the xl must be fitted from the downside, at the 2k it`s fitted from above, you`ll have to take off the whole casing.
