Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I've looked through the manual a few times and cant figure out how to do this:

I have a sound loaded to pad 1. I open that sound up with the 16-level tuning function. I want to use a variation of that sound from pad one with another sound. Is there any way that I can save a sound from the 16-level function so that when I go back to all the normal sounds I will have my original sound on pad 1 and the differently tuned sound on, say, pad 16?

basically, make a variation of a sound with the '16' button and then save that varied sound to a normal pad outside of the '16' function?

If this is possible, please let me know.
Thank You,
-Rob

no, you would really have to either record the sound into a sequence and then layer the other sound with it later... or you could copy the original sound and make a pitch alteration on the copy so you still have your original and the new pitched version.

I would just assign the sound to both pads and pitch it in increments of 10 until you hear the tone you want. It's faster and easier to hear if you type 1 0 enter rather than than turning the data wheel. What exactly are you trying to do?
