Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Whats up y'all I just got a MPC 2000XL. I seem to be having a tons of problems with it, but I'm trying to find a solution one step at a time. It operates well, but I have a problem with the media card reader I purchased but I will discuss this in a bit. BUT heres my main problem. I have a turntable with a ground knob on it. How do I ground the turntable WITHOUT getting a mixer for it? I believe I was on here and found that you can unscrew one of the MPC's screws and connect it to that. Is this a good solution? And is it safe? My other problem is I bought the Media Card Reader and my boy tried to install it... And the MPC was not picking it up.... We made our own wires and followed one of those videos on youtube. My boy came up with the conclusion that it might be the OS. But we cant upload the OS on it cause theres a problem with the floppy drive or something... Any solutions or ideas? THANKS ahead of time for the help.

To minimize ground bounce, the ground on your turntable need to connect to the chassis ground of whatever you are connecting it to. Unless your turntable already has an amplifier in it in, you will probably need to run the turntable into some kind of preamp before putting it into your MPC.

Which OS version do you have on your MPC?

Since your MPC is not recognizing the card reader, the card reader is not SCSI, but ATAPI. If you have an ATAPI drive, you will likely need to put OS version 1.20 on your MPC which you can download from akaipro.com. Put a working floppy drive in the machine so you can load the OS and after the OS is loaded you can install the card reader.
