Zip drive of new MPC!?

Hi,

I have just got a 2000 and the zip drive it came with doesn't work and there is only so much I can take of not being able to save my work!!

I am in Australia and want to know if anyone sells the Iomega drives here, or should I get a new storage system fitted? What are my options?

Or new MPC 2500??

I personally do not recommend zip drives because they will fail eventually. Do a google search for "Iomega, click of death". Get a CF card reader, waaaaaaaaaay better.

huh, wha ? been following this forum for years and have read your threads for many years and you have mentioned repeatedly and i mean repeatedly in the past how unreliable zip drives are so that you can push your other products, and now you are selling zip drives on your website????!! . change of heart now???? i guess you are NOW okay with selling unreliable zip drives to your customers. f@ck that! what a joke!

I've sold zip drives on and off for years, even while informing prospective buyers of my overall opinion of their reliability. When you run a business, you have to give the people what they want. Like fish are gonna swim, people are gonna buy zip drives. I can watch that money walk away or I can sell them a zip drive that I have thoroughly tested and stand behind. Better they should get a decent quality zip drive from me that comes with a warranty than buy one off eBay and get a broken piece of junk.

got anexternal SCSI 250Mb Zip drive off eBay
for my Mpc3000le
it worked perfect for a week ,
than yesterday it just doesn't power up .....

guess the power supply is dead ...or?

So when you plug it in and press the switch on the front of the Zip 250, the drive does not power up? That could be the power supply or it could be a drive problem. If you can get hold of a voltmeter, test the power supply. They seldom go bad but it is possible. We have replacement power supplies available but it would be good if you could test it before spending money on one.
