My MPC headphone jack messed up!?

Hi, I've looked everywhere and can not find this resolution. Can someone please help! I own a MPC 2000xl, I get sound when I connect my monitor speakers to it, but when I plug in my head phones I get no sound at all through my headphones. What can I do, and what parts should I buy? I understand mpcstuff.com is a trusty site, but I'm pretty lost as to what part I need. If anyone can provide that information as well as how to install the part, I would HIGHLY appreciate it. If it isn't the headphones then you'll need to open the MPC. Then check the solder pads where the jack is connected. They may be broken. If so, then just reheat the pads with an iron.

This is assuming you know a little about how to do stuff like this and not kill yourself or your MPC. If you doubt your skills, take it in.

I know very little of soldering but I'll figure it out with YouTube vids. Now, all I have to do is resolder the connection? I don't have to disconnect anything or get a replacement Jack??

I said IF your solder pads that the jack attaches to are broken you'd need to reheat them.

I have no idea if your jack is also dirty/bad or what else may be wrong. If I were you I would take it one step at a time.

- Check your headphones and confirm that they work
- Buy some contact cleaner and follow the instructions on it
- Open the thing and check the solder pads

As I said before. If you are not sure of your skills/ability to NOT break something then give it to a tech. The cure should never be worse than the problem.

I mean, I'm sure I can figure this out on my own plus I'm on a budget for a tech, God knows their prices today.

So if I understood right, just open up the casing and look to see if the Jack is dirty. In any even lt I should still reheat the solder parts. Correct?

If you have a video link on how to open up the casin wherre the back panel comes out I'll appreciate it. I just know how to get to the motherboard, no the back panel. I appreciate it!

when you get the pad board out and the button board, you'll see the jack board in the back left hand corner
there are some screws to take out to get it out and once you do that the jack board will slide right out
